    NXP Semiconductors N.V. (Nasdaq stock code: NXPI) has launched the next generation battery controller IC, aimed at optimizing the performance and safety of battery management systems (BMS). Enzhipu‘s MC33774 18-channel analog front-end device can provide cell measurement accuracy as low as 0.8 mV and excellent cell balancing force over a wide temperature range, supporting functional safety level ASIL-D, suitable for use in high-voltage lithium-ion batteries closely related to safety, to fully tap into available capacity.

    Lithium ion batteries are widely used in electric vehicles due to their high energy density per unit volume and weight, low self discharge rate, low maintenance cost, and ability to withstand thousands of charging and discharging cycles. Batteries account for approximately 30-40% of the total cost of electric vehicles. A typical 800V lithium-ion battery system consists of approximately 200 individual battery units connected in series. Accurately estimating the state of charge (SoC) of a battery pack at any specific temperature and instant is crucial during its lifespan that spans several years. Enzipu‘s MC33774 can provide accurate battery measurement data throughout its entire life cycle within the full temperature range of -40 ° C to+125 ° C, achieving highly accurate mileage prediction.

    The MC33774 lithium-ion battery unit controller adopts Enzipu‘s SmartMOS SOI (Insulated Silicon) technology, which can provide battery measurement accuracy as low as ± 0.8 mV, helping to ensure the lifespan performance of nickel manganese cobalt (NCM) and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery chemicals. The precision design and calibration technology of Enzipu MC33774 can save customers the cost of offline inspection (EOL) calibration.
    The Enzhipu MC33774 18 channel lithium-ion battery management system IC is part of the Enzhipu high-voltage BMS chipset solution, which includes future products such as MC33777 (battery junction box controller for battery pack level measurement), as well as the already released MC33665 battery management communication gateway.
