Infineon launches the industry‘s first USB 10 Gbps peripheral controller

    EZ-USB ™ The series of programmable USB peripheral controllers enable developers to create USB devices that meet the highest performance requirements of AI, imaging, and emerging applications through continuous functional and performance improvements. Infineon Technologies Inc. (FSE code: IFX/OTCQX code: IFNNY) is now launching the latest product in this series - EZ-USB ™ FX10. This semiconductor device provides high-speed connectivity through USB 10Gbps and LVDS interfaces, with a total bandwidth increase of three times compared to the previous generation product.
EZ-USB FX10
    EZ-USB ™ FX10 is equipped with dual ARM ® Cortex ®- M4 and M0+core CPUs, 512 KB flash memory, 128 KB SRAM, 128 KB ROM, and 7 serial communication blocks (SCBs), as well as an encryption accelerator and a high bandwidth data subsystem. This high bandwidth data subsystem can achieve up to 10 Gbps direct memory access (DMA) data transfer between LVDS/LVCMOS and USB ports, supported by 1 MB SRAM for buffering USB data. This peripheral controller has USB-C connector direction detection and flip multiplexing function, so external logic is no longer required. If developers need a powerful and adaptable USB controller, then a fully functional EZ-USB ™ FX10 is its ideal choice.
    Due to the small required PCB area, EZ-USB ™ FX10 helps optimize BOM (Bill of Materials) costs. Its 10 x 10 mm ² BGA packaging is very suitable for space limited applications. In addition, it also supports USB-C direct connection and does not require a high-speed signal multiplexer, simplifying the design process. Its quick start development kit includes firmware and configuration tools that are easy to integrate. EZ-USB ™ The FX10 DVK (development kit) also comes with a standard FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) connector that can be easily connected to a field programmable gate array (FPGA) board and an integrated programming and debugging accessory board. This controller comes with a complete and comprehensive set of software and hardware design application instructions, which can help developers create high-performance devices suitable for various applications.
    EZ-USB ™ The FX10 was officially unveiled at the International Imaging Technology and Equipment Exhibition (ITE 2023) held in Yokohama, Japan on December 6th.
