Simplified design and flexible control
    A common challenge in LED headlight design is that matrix lighting and animation lighting require additional components, with complex software and lack of flexibility. The MAX25608 is a 12 switch matrix manager IC introduced by ADI for automotive lighting applications. It has a LED current of up to 1.6A, flexible configuration, programmable 12 bit PWM dimming function, and can meet various flexible lighting scene settings. The scalable configuration allows multiple devices to be connected in daisy chain mode.
    The MAX25608 is internally integrated with 12 switch arrays. It uses 12 independently controlled n-channel MOSFET switches. The rated voltage is 14V and the on resistance is 0.06 Ω. A single current source can be used to supply power to all series connected LED, and each LED can be dimmed by turning on and off the bypass switch on each LED. These devices can also be configured in dual string LED applications, with six switches in series in each string, and each switch can be connected in series on one, two, or three LED. The MAX25608 also includes an internal charge pump to power the gate drive of the LED bypass switch.
Serial interface (UART) for flexible communication
    MAX25608 supports multiple serial interfaces (UART) for serial communication, and can be used in full duplex applications or half duplex applications, such as CAN transceivers, and supports addressing of up to 16 devices. Each switch can be fully opened, closed or dimmed via the serial interface.

At the same time, several key features further improve reliability, including not only lower EMI by turning on the internal charge pump clock oscillator, but also programmable slew rate control, which is used to reduce electromagnetic interference NTC temperature monitoring. The MAX25608 also provides LED open circuit protection function. Open circuit and short circuit detection can be performed on each switch, and open circuit and short circuit LED faults can be reported through the serial interface.
