The difference between LM358 and LMV358

Time:2024-02-10 Views:216
LMV358 is suitable for low-power applications. In simpler terms, LMV358 is a low-voltage and low-power version of LM358, and the two are compatible in terms of teaching and application schematics.
There are several main differences between the two:
    1. Replacing LMV358 with LM358 will consume much more power, more than twice as much. (210uA and 500uA)
    2. The power supply voltage is different. LMV358 can have a minimum voltage of 2.7V and a maximum voltage of only 5V, while LM358 is much wider and can have a single power supply of 3V to 32V, or a dual power supply of ± 1.5V to ± 16V.
    3. The output characteristics will be significantly different, LMV358 has rail to rail output characteristics, while LM358 is much worse.
LM358 Features:
Large dc voltage gain: 100 dB
    Wide bandwidth: 1 MHz
    Wide power supply range:
    — Single supply: 3V to 32V
    — or dual supplies: ±1.5V to ±16V
Very low supply current drain (500 μA)—essentially
    independent of supply voltage
Low input offset voltage: 2 mV
Input common-mode voltage range includes ground
Differential input voltage range equal to the power supply voltage
Large output voltage swing: 0V to V+− 1.5V
LMV358 Features
    Guaranteed 2.7V and 5V Performance
    No Crossover Distortion
    Gain-Bandwidth Product 1MHz
    Low Supply Current:LMV358 210μA
    Rail-to-Rail Output Swing @10kΩ
    V+ −10mV
    V− +65mV
    VCM −0.2V to V+−0.8V
