MCU prices continue to fall, and it is difficult to rebound in the second half of the year

Time:2022-08-23 Views:1733

On August 17, according to the latest report released by US foreign investors, according to the survey of channel providers, the supply of MCU increased in August, but the demand worsened further. End customers who originally needed to purchase MCU in the spot market can now purchase MCU directly from MCU suppliers, resulting in the continuous drop in spot prices. Some MCU dealers believe that the possibility of MCU price rebound in the second half of this year is not high.
According to the price of MCU announced by the MCU distributor in mid August, the price of 32-bit MCU of STMicroelectronics has dropped from 55 yuan in July this year to 40 yuan, a decrease of 27%. This part is calculated based on the price corrected in July. Before that, the spot price of MUC reached 135 yuan.
American foreign investors believe that the weak demand and the inventory pressure of downstream manufacturers have made the spot price of MUC cheaper than the contract price. Although some dealers have revised down the contract price of the third quarter of this year in early July, the spot price continues to fall, which will still encourage dealers to continue to revise down the contract price in the fourth quarter.
However, the report also points out that although the spot price of MCU is weak, STMicroelectronics is full of confidence, saying that the backlog of existing orders in the second quarter still allows full capacity, and it takes about 6 to 8 quarters to complete production; However, dealers are pessimistic about the prospect of MCU prices and believe that there is little chance for spot prices to rebound before the end of this year.
Generally speaking, September will be the peak season of the electronic market, mainly for manufacturers to prepare goods for double 11, Black Friday and Christmas. However, under the persistent sluggish demand, dealers believe that the spot price will continue to fall.
